**Another example of having the best intentions...I wrote this post on Tuesday!** Whew! Today was a blur! Lots of fun, lots of reminders about behavior choices (we're still figuring out where boundaries are), lots of practicing routines and building stamina, and a good dose of the unexpected as well! We practiced our "Read to Self" skills this morning during our "Panther Prowl" time. Last week, we "read" quietly for over six minutes on one day. Today, our max was two and a half minutes. We were a chatty bunch today, and read to self time? No chatting allowed! Anyway, here are a few pictures I took of the class reading hard!
Claire is doing awesome reading! She now reads at least one of our bedtime books each night, she tries to hard to sound out words and she is very good at finding all of the sight words and reading those correctly, no matter which book we read. I am so proud of her! I am also grateful to you for teaching my baby girl to read more than 10 words during the first weeks of kindergarten! THANK YOU!

Mrs. Adkins
Hi,I am Mrs. Adkins, your child's kindergarten teacher! This is my twelfth year working with kindergartners at Luce Road, and my eleventh year with my own classroom. In addition to being a teacher, I am a wife, and mom to three girls (ages 6, 4, and 2). I love to read, craft, sew, work in the garden, and spend time with my family. This blog page will detail what we are working on in our classroom, share photos and ideas. Enjoy!
