Tech Toys
This is the page where I will link parents and anyone else who is interested to some pretty amazing websites, apps, YouTube videos and more to support the learning of our kindergartners! I hope you enjoy, and use the links often!
Websites (all titles are linked to the site, and will open in a new window)
Starfall This website allows students to work explore letters, sounds, words, and reading. We will use the Starfall site quite often in our classroom. Most of the website is free, but some is by subscription only. Students love this website, and it is easy to navigate. The ABCs section is a great place for students to work on letter and sound identification.
ABCya This website has many fun games for students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Help your child find some fun games to play. Many of our kindergarten skills (both language arts and math) are included on this site. If your child is ready for a challenge, you could try some of the first grade versions of games and activities. My own daughter loves to play SnailBob, which encourages creative thinking and problem solving.
Let's Find Out! These are the electronic resources that go along with the Let's Find Out!/My Weekly Reader magazine we will be using most weeks in our classroom. This magazine helps to teach many of our science and social studies skills, and correlates with seasonal events as well. The students love it, and the online resources are fantastic! The site is currently password protected, but I will be sharing our classroom password with you in one of our first classroom newsletters.
Early Elementary Resources For many, many great resources, please visit this website, organized by Alma School's own amazing Cassie Thelen. It includes links to the resources listed above, and many, many more! Explore these sites with your child, and you can find and learn new things together!

Apps for Apple and Android
If your children are anything like mine, they love to play on your phone or tablet. I am working on compiling a list of apps (both free and for purchase, though I will try to post more free ones than paid) for both Apple and Android. Please note, I work on Android systems, but I will work to develop a list of some great iPad apps for you!
